![]() Viola! Mine loads and sounds like a million bucks. Go to your Sonar plugin manager and scan. Close the window.Ĭlick on Proteus icon on your desktop to run as standalone. Close Proteus and the compatibility window should be there. ![]() It will come back as run it as compatible with XP service pack 2. Run the troubleshooter to find problems with running Proteus. ![]() Make sure that you created a Proteus shortcut on your desktop. My problem was the installation for VX worked great but it would not load the libraries. They have to be in the Creative Professional/ e-mu Sound Central folder in Program files. Those of you who know how to install the samples, do as usual. Put the setup program in that folder and unzip. Create a Proteus VX setup folder on the C drive. (Just to be clear, I am in no way suggesting being taken in (1) by sellers offering bona fide disks at inflated prices or (2) by unauthorized sellers offering downloads and copies of disks.Hi, guys, Just stumbled upon how to get the free E-mu Proteus VX plugin to work in Sonar X1 on Windows 7 computer. For ages there have been price gougers selling disks (both copies and original disks), but you can sometimes find musicians selling legitimate E-Mu disks for a fair price. One benefit to the out-dated E-Mu software is that you can convert hardware sampler banks (*.e4b) to the software format (*.exb). I have the highest respect for the work Tim Swartz has done and continues to do with the E-Mu Library.Īnother option is to use an XP PC to run Proteus VX and send the audio into a Win 10 PC. I think there are at lot more sounds here than VX but I would not swear to it. I think it's a bit expensive for what it is but they have frequent sales. ![]() ![]() If you really want the Protius sounds Digital Sound Factory have all the sounds in Dimension Pro format. ![]()
